William Douglas Co. believes in simplicity. We’re offering ready to use batches of our WDC Soap Finish that will help you maintain the TRUE color of your light woods. A typical oil finish enhances dark woods, but it turns light woods to an undesirable yellow/orange. The WDC Soap Finish will maintain the beauty of the natural wood by penetrating the grain with the right amount of moisture without altering the hue. We’re not reinventing the wheel, we’re just making it ready to go for you when you need it for your woodworking project.
**We do not recommend for use on counter-top surfaces due to minimal protection qualities, ALTHOUGH this finish was most commonly used by the Danish on light wood flooring! Basically.. you can use it for whatever you are comfortable maintaining!

Instructions for use:
- Sand to at least 180 grit
- Blow off with compressed air
- Use applicator pad and rub in soap finish
- let sit for 60 seconds
- Wipe (with the grain) using micro fiber cloth. Apply only necessary pressure to remove any streaking.
- Let sit until dry 4-6 hours depending on humidity
- Scuff the surface lightly with a fine (220 grit or higher) sanding sponge. ONLY NECESSARY AFTER FIRST COAT.
- Apply as many subsequent quotes as you’d like with 1-2 hours dry time between coats. We typically do 3-4 coats.
